Our Signpost Service is held between 10am and 12pm on the first Tuesday of every month at the Discovery Centre in Basingstoke.
It is a free and confidential service available to anyone affected by any type of disability. As well as being able to signpost you to the most appropriate agency for your query, we also produce a series of useful leaflets which are available during the sessions. You can also download them via the links below.
Formerly known as Disability Connections, these informal get togethers are held between 12.30pm and 2.30pm on the first Tuesday of each month at the Discovery Centre.
ConneXions provides a great opportunity to meet new people whilst enjoying free refreshments. You are welcome to bring your lunch with you and you do not need to be a member of BDDF to attend.
We also invite an expert speaker to each session to give a short talk on topical issues concerning people affected by disability.
We are able to deliver bespoke disability awareness training to
organisations and commercial companies; schools; as well as charitable and community groups, such as the Brownies and the WI.
We also offer free training for volunteers who wish to help us provide our awareness programmes to both adults and children. Please contact us as above for further details or to register your interest.
We host these special days twice a year with our partners in the local community to raise awareness of disability issues to the general public.
The events also provide an opportunity for anyone affected by disability to obtain information and advice direct from the local services represented on the day.
As BDDF is a small local charity, fundraising is very important to us.
Each year, we host the Basingstoke Roll, where teams are sponsored to take part in a treasure hunt whilst in a wheelchair. 2018's role will be held in Castle Square (outside Primark) on Saturday 14 July.
