ConneXions Talk


These are our monthly informal get togethers for anyone affected by any type of disability.

 

The are 2 sessions per month:

 

On the first Tuesday of each month between 12.30pm and 2.30pm in Church Cottage (behind St. Michael's Church).

 

On third Wednesday of the month between 10am and 12noon in The Orchard, White Hart Lane, RG21 4AF. 

 

Everyone is welcome, so please feel free to come along for a chat and to meet new people. You do not need to be a member of BDDF to attend.

Free refreshments are available at every session. Unfortunately we are not able to offer car parking.


Tuesday 4 June 2019 - 12:30-2:30pm - Church Cottage

Come for a chat to make friends, and enjoy a free game of prize bingo. Free refreshments will also be available as usual.


Wednesday 19 June - 10am-12noon - The Orchard

Meet at The Orchard for a gentle stroll around War Memorial Park, then enjoy free refreshments in The Orchard coffee shop. 

The walk is suitable for mobility aids, dogs and pushchairs.


Tuesday 2 July 2019 - 12:30-2:30pm - Church Cottage

We will meet in Festival Place for a Virtual Orchestra experience. Free workshop led by a music education specialist, where we will journey through the virtual orchestra as they perform Holst's The Planets, in addition to the virtual reality experience.

Afterwards we will enjoy free refreshments and a chat. Christine from Centra Group will then join us to demonstrate out of home personal alarms.


Wednesday 17 July - 10am-12noon - The Orchard

Tuesday 6 August 2019 - 12:30-2:30pm - Church Cottage

Howard Park Bowls Club representative will bring their new 'greens' wheelchair to demonstrate how inclusive the sport at their club can be. 

Additionally, we will find out about Disabled Sailing opportunities.
